PURCHASING INSTRUMENTS

Below are my recommendations (in order) for purchasing instruments:

~NEW & USED PIANOS~ 

All pianos should have 88 weighted keys and a damper pedal.

1.  Acoustic Pianos (used with an inspection from a Professional Piano Tuner)

2.  Digital Keyboards (preferably new).  Some beginner options are the Williams Allegro and Yamaha P-125.

~NEW FLUTES~

Student Model Flutes:  

1.  Gemeinhardt 2SP 

2.  Yamaha YFL-222 


Intermediate Model Flutes (with solid silver head, body, & footjoint):  

1.  Yamaha YFL-400 series 

2.  Azumi AZ3 

3.  Other good models:  Haynes Amadeus AF780; Dean Yang Emerald; Di Zhao DZ700; Pearl PF-765 Quantz Model; Powell Sonare PS-601; Trever James Virtuoso Voce.


1st step into the Professional Model Flutes:

1.  Yamaha YFL-600 or 700 series (heavy walled)

2.  Resona (heavy walled)
